How was your week? For me, it whipped by too quickly with not enough accomplished. Hot off the heels of my Cookie Swap hosting, I feel like I’ve just been Mad Maxxing it across Los Angeles in search of a rib roast that costs less than $20 per pound for Christmas dinner. So far, no luck! No luck even finding one that DOES cost over $20 per pound. But I’m watching “A Flintstone Christmas Carol” right now to calm down. Truth be told, even though rib roast is our traditional family meal, my family also says they don’t care if we have that this year. In fact, one member of our family seems like they might prefer to have something else entirely. LIKE WHAT, THOUGH, I ASK!!!
I am also deeply inhaling the vapors from some acceptably scented holiday candles. They’re not great, just ok. Did I ever tell the GAP Christmas candle story on the podcast? I can never remember. It had to do with when I worked at “Rosie” and there was a Secret Santa gift exchange that played into it, then a moment where I was jealously hoarding the tail end of my coveted last GAP candle in private? Let me know if any of this sounds familiar or not. If not, I’ll tell it on the podcast. But if I already told it, then you already know it, LOL!
Anyway, lots has been going on with me & Busy this week.
Here’s this week’s podcast, with guest Lake Bell, if you haven’t gotten to listen to it yet! Please download it if you can. I know you must be sick of us asking, but I swear I wouldn’t if it didn’t matter.
On the podcast, we finally were able to discuss that job that we worked on together. It was a little Holiday special on QVC+. We had such a ball working with the team from QVC. And my old friend, Seth Rudetsky, who is the sparkliest person on Broadway, IMHO, came to accompany Biz as she sang a funny song with lyrics by moi! Plus, we even got to meet some podcast friends on the streets of NYC. And we made waffles & did a tiny fashion show? Dream gig!!! If you haven’t seen it yet, you can watch it here, now!
ALSO on the podcast, Biz & I revealed that we are embarking on a mini-tour & the dates are coming up extremely fast! February 3, 9 & 11. If you live in or around San Francisco, Boston or Newark, we hope you will consider coming out to see us! You can purchase tickets here! The better this goes, the better the chance that we will be invited to visit some other cities in the future, so cross your fingers for us, help spread the word or cast a spell if you are so inclined.
Busy made a Mushroom Menorah and it’s SO GREAT! Look at it! This totally makes up for never getting her hands on spray foam to make the bottle brush spray foam wreath craft I sent her.
Ok, I think that brings us mostly up to date on everything. I’d love to hear from you. What are you eating for Hanukah, or Christmas or Kwanzaa? Are you baking? Do you want the recipe for the cookies I made for my cookie swap that are normally very good, but that I overbaked this time because I was trying to simultaneously clean?
Are any of you looking forward to the holidays? Are you dreading it? What are you planning? What would be your ultimate fantasy dream scenario? Does anyone have plans for New Year’s Eve? Why do I never have plans for New Year’s Eve? Should I plan a Zoom cocktail hour with available Besties sometime in the week between Christmas & New Year? Would that be fun? LMK! Ok, I probably asked too many questions but I hope you leave a million comments. LOVE YOU!!!
It's two days past Christmas here in Australia and I'm taking some time to catch up on things here and I also watched the QVC special today - it was so great! I hope you get to work with them again!
Yes please to the cookie recipe if and when you're up for sharing it xo
The news of the tour is so exciting! If I didn't live on the other side of the world, I would definitely be trying to attend a meet and greet! I hope all three shows sell out and you get to do more if you want to! I would also try to attend a besties Zoom any time in the future one was scheduled xo
Busy's Menorah is amazing!
I have been invited to a house party for NYE but the lead up to Christmas with two young children is always so hectic that I really just can't be bothered! Very happy to stay at home and have some quiet drinks!
Love to you, Caissie xo
I love Busy's menorah. I don't typically do anything for new years , other than hang out at home and sometimes I am the last one standing, kids and hubby sleeping. But in fairness my husband has to be at work by 4am. So I would love to do a zoom happy hour. For Christmas, I bake cookies with the kiss and make a pistachio cake.
