It seems there comes a time in the life of most people living in the modern world, where a new iteration of social media is introduced, and you either belly up to the bowl and dig in, or you push yourself away from the table and say, “Oh, no thanks. I’ve had enough!” Or, sometimes, you tentatively approach and make a deal with yourself to at least tryyyyyy it. Just a taste, to see if you like it, or maybe just get a few bites down. I mean, it’s social media! We were founding Twitter pioneers when there were about ten of us chatting on a dusty digital plane with electronic tumbleweeds rolling by! We were making Instagram stories before Mark Zuckerberg was Constitutionally old enough to run for President! (Please don’t run for President, Mark Zuckerberg.)
Nowadays, CHILDREN make TikToks, and even though it’s probably so bad for their brains, they’re quite good at it and do it very easily!!! And yet, here is an early attempt at a Reel that was, after much frustration, abandoned. It is also evidence of *the exact moment in time* when we realized you maybe can’t teach someone who has been on soc meds for fifteen years one more new trick. Have we truly reached the limits of our social media content creator abilities? Only time will tell!
In the meantime, for your enjoyment and amusement, a half-done Reel that was meant to commemorate and document a successful and joyful vintage clothing haul. If you squint, it kinda looks like a rough cut of a 1980’s movie makeover montage? Right? Please, just say it does!
