On this week’s episode of #BPIDHB, with guest Reneé Rapp from “Mean Girls,” I talked about my prized pozesh, a luxurious cashmere wrap that I spent WAY TOO MUCH money on about ten years ago and how it is still in like-new shape even though I drag it everywhere and use it every day from November to February and how much I do not regret purchasing it way back then because I have loved it and used it and found my family snoozing underneath it whenever I’ve left it unattended. I further explained how I recently realized that if anything ever happened to it, I would be devastated, and that I should try to procure a backup to hold onto in that event. I’m planning to take this item to the grave, okay?
Well, as I said on the pod, when I logged onto the charming but obscure-ish Scottish website I had originally purchased from, I learned that while the wrap WAS still available, it was being sold at an insanely deep discount because they were getting rid of them. What the frock? Am I the only person in the universe who knows how great this thing is??? In the rest of the world’s defense, I guess the problem could have been that they were originally prohibitively expensive, even for indescribably incredible cashmere which you’d be buying online based on pure faith. But since I knew the dreaminess because I had already purchased on faith a decade before, I decided on the spot to raid my savings account and buy a stack of them to give as gifts to people in my life who deserve to know what love feels like in the form of a garment.
There’s a whoooooole other part of my story where I thought some type of shipping scam was happening. Because when the package was very late, the shipping company cc’d me on an email chain with the seller demanding to know where the FUDGE in my giant package of FUDGE was manufactured. And then the seller responded, “The FUDGE was made in XYZ city!” And I was like, A) I always thought fudge was made around the corner. (IYKYK) and B) I DID NOT ORDER ANY FUDGE FROM AROUND THE CORNER OR OTHERWISE??? But, I decided to let it play out and see what happened, and once the fudge question was answered, my package arrived the next day. After paying a small extra-days of warehouse storage fee of $95 that *I* somehow was responsible for, I eagerly unboxed. In the package were the wraps I’d ordered along with a single box of what Busy and I are calling “Thank You Fudge” that in no way resembles what we know here in the USA as fudge. And it’s vanilla. A nice gesture, but was it worth the holdup and a hundred bucks? Not really!
Anyway, my Christmas shopping for next year is already done and dusted, but since it’s been a minute since we’ve done free stuff Friday, I thought we could do a little giveaway of one of my wraps. The brand is Lona Scott. It’s 100% cashmere in Royal Stewart Tartan. The original retail price was, I believe, 320 American doll hairs? And, here is a picture of me in my slippers and nightgown with my bed hair modeling it. Is my mirror dirty? Yes, because it is also my jewelry box so I am always putting my mitts all over it to open it. Now imagine how gross these pictures look on my computer screen which is also just as fingerprinty! But you get the gist.
If you would like to enter to win this wrap, please comment below. The drawing will be random, so don’t feel like you have to make a case for why you should win it, just say anything! And, I hate giveaways with a lot of rules and instructions that you have to follow to be entered, so the only rule is you have to be signed up to get our free posts here. But…if you could double check that you are subscribed to “Busy Philipps is Doing Her Best” on your favorite podcast app, and that you have it set up to download episodes automatically, I would be very grateful. And if you want to also follow us on Instagram or Facebook, I wouldn’t be mad!
And good news for whoever wins, I’ll def toss in a couple pieces of the THANK YOU FUDGE because it is not really flying off the shelves in my house? All entries must be received before Monday, January 15th at 8PM PT! (And Planner Gang, I will see YOU at 9AM PT tomorrow for Planner Show and Tell! And mostly to drink coffee and shoot the shit, if we’re being honest. Here’s the link if you lost it!)
I haven’t seen a winner announced but I’m still crossing my fingers every day. I want this so bad. 😍
Was the winner announced? 🤔
