This week, Busy and Caissie share their thoughts on the explosive Max documentary Quiet on Set about the behind the scenes misconduct and abuse on the sets of several Nickelodeon children’s shows, plus they recap the arguments heard by the Supreme Court about whether access to abortion pills will be restricted. Then, Grammy winner, Tony and Emmy nominee, Phillipa Soo, stops by to talk about her experience as a child trying to break into the entertainment business and what the gasp uttered by her iconic character, Eliza, at the end of Hamilton might mean. Plus, she talks about her latest pivot, to being a children’s book author with her debut book, Piper Chen Sings, out this week! Finally, Busy and Caissie discuss an amazing afternoon they spent, meeting Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, and celebrating her new memoir, One Way Out, with a whole bunch of wonderful women. After listening to the pod cast today-I was thinking about myself and honestly all my friends who identify as women. We have all been sexually harassed in nearly all industries. And women get “blacklisted” in all industries. For me it was food service but for some friends it was publishing, banking, government work, etc. There was a price to be paid if you spoke up. I am so proud of the women in Hollywood you stood up but I am equally proud of all the women whose names none of us will know who don’t get a platform but where so brave in speaking their truth. And to all the women who were afraid I see you and you are a badass too!
