So in Florida (yeah I know.....can't help my residency at the moment), lottery ticket money goes to support college scholarships! My oldest is currently at university and due to high school grades has full tuition paid (we still have to cover room and board) by the lottery scholarship money.....so if following Janie's tip to become a millionaire....in FL your helping bright kids!

I don’t have the guts to directly ask for a discount so I like putting things in a cart, leave it and usually the business will send a “did you like something on our website?” email, often with a discount or free shipping. If they don’t, go back to the cart, take something out and put something in and leave it again. Usually on the second try they’ll dangle some sort of carrot to get you to buy.

This is really great - thank you both!

My local Buy Nothing group on FB has been super useful. Plus, the one I’m in is for liberals/progressives in our county, and I love knowing that I can donate my stuff to like-minded people in my community who may need something that I don’t anymore (and vice versa).

I recently started doing Branded Surveys to see what comes of it and so far, so good.

I’ve also been using GasBuddy to find cheap gas in my area because gas is so ridiculously expensive right now.

Love all these tips. I'm definitely going to check out Instacart - it's a lot easier than driving around.

Regarding the lottery, if I ever win a big one, I'm going to get a new cell number and only share my new number with certain people haha

These are great! Thanks for the goodwill link. I’m an avid thrifter and always looking for vintage tins (that I make jewelry from), so I’m excited to check this out. ♻️❤️

This goodwill.com thing is a gem!!! I just did a few quick searches, and there is some really good stuff out there!!! My best tip is to use all the rebate apps (Ibotta, Rakuten, Etc..). I use them like a savings account to buy expensive things I feel guilty spending ‘my’ money on.

I love these tips! can confirm that FB buy nothing groups are amazing. my wife and I scored a Crate & Barrel bookshelf in ours, and the whole group is very active. Also, if you’re in NYC, follow stooping accounts on insta! They’re always posting free stuff left on stoops in different neighborhoods.
