Well, here’s a little treat for ALL of you, but you can only watch it if you have already voted or if you super pinky promise that you are voting on Tuesday! (Friends in other countries, you are, of course, exempt.)
If you’ve been writing postcards or making calls or sending texts or knocking doors, thank you. If you have been having difficult conversations with people in your life to try to make inroads, thank you. If you have been talking to the young people you know, and explaining to them, that if they make it into the voting booth, we all win, and more importantly, their future is so much safer, we thank you.
We’re all probably feeling pretty anxious right about now. And that’s on top of two years of anxiety, coming on the heels of four years of anxiety before that. Not gonna lie, the stakes are fucking high! Higher than they have perhaps ever been. But as Busy likes to say often, from Pirkei Avot quoting Rabbi Tarfon in “Ethics of Our Fathers”…It is not incumbent upon you to complete the work, but neither are you at liberty to desist from it.
There is still much work to be done. We’ll be there. We love you.
