Just like Caissie I can’t wear bandanas ‘cause they just slip... but I can stand headbands at last, so I can accessorize as Blair Waldorf, who is still a great inspiration for me!!

I loved the back to school season as well as a child, I couldn’t wait to pick new clothes for the first day of school!!! And fall is just perfect for fashion, summer is too hot and sweaty in my opinion!!! 😊

Yes! Fall always has me feeling extra crafty!!

I've recently been working on poofs (as seen on tiktoks called pom-poms made from yarn).

I don't really know why I started, but in the tiktoks they looked so relaxing and now I'm obsessed.

I work in an insurance office that was previously a little brick house, so we have a non working fireplace in our lobby. I made a large fall colored poof garland for that and a small fall colored garland for my office.

It's the little things right? And the poofs make me happy and I spend less time staring at my phone at night, so it's a win-win right?

As a fellow isolated summer child (lived many miles from school/town in the proper countryside) I too used to dream of reinventing myself and wowing people on my return to school 😂 it did happen sort of one summer when I spent about a month and a half straight outdoors and had the most fanstastic tan which I maximised with light coloured clothes upon my return 😝 other than that, um, yeah no... as for crafts - I see anything that requires fixing or making or imaginative solutions is a craft - see trying to reglue together my sons favorite silver boots that he’s beaten up by wearing every day over the summer...or finding a new solution for hanging towels

I have been upping my reiki practice to ground, get in touch with what I need and also changing every curtain in my house .... I have painted a door that is on our ‘fake’ porch (it is the original front door but the previous owner moved it to the side of the house with an awesome covered porch), and I am trying to declutter and remove items from our home that we do not use - I am hoping to donate to a local charity that furnishes homes for local families that are restarting, and then want to have a fall yard sale and donate that money to our local food bank. I have decided we acquire to much stuff and I want to start investing in experiences with people I love - more vacations, more plays, more off the wall adventures.

I, too, miss back to school shopping!! Thank you for sharing Caissie 💕.

Just a few days ago (Even before this post) I turned to my husband and asked him if he missed the daily structure that school provided or if he preferred the free-wheeling all-over-the-place working 24/7 365 mentality of running our own businesses. I kind of miss being in school for the structure. I liked that I had a schedule and knew where I was supposed to be when & knew what had to be done to greet the next day. Now everything just feels like a hustle & the hustle is alive and well when you're running your own business. Tomorrow is my first day off in two weeks and I have fucking laryngitis & a cold & it isn't covid & it sucks.

I do love the idea of crafting in the fall / winter months, but is anyone else an advocate for fall cleaning instead of spring cleaning? Somehow I feel like when we're getting into decorating for all of the holiday months, I tend to go through more of my belongings and re-organize/donate etc. It's not a crafty or fashion-y thing but here in Los Angeles the dept. of sanitation does a drive to collect all of your sauce packets & plastic utensils from takeout and they give to soup kitchens or homeless shelters to put to good use! I love the feeling of donating those bags after a year of collecting these items in my home.

I recently went back on my tumblr (remember tumblr gang?) and I decided to find my first ever post & kind of see what was going on during my early days of posting. I posted a lot of my art concepts there (alongside some silly commentaries on college) & also lots of inspiration. It kind of inspired me to go through some of my art pieces and maybe get back to work on being an active artist again. Maybe this is my "fall crafting project" of sorts... we'll see!

You’re such a great writer! Reading this was so fun. I can’t wait to see your beret pics!

For my Sept reinvention I decided to sell my house and buy a different house, it’s only 5 miles away, but it’s a big change! I move on Tuesday!

Caissie -your writing always hits a deep chord. Whenever I see that you have posted something, I stop what I'm doing to read it. Love your gift with words and story-telling. If you write a new book, I'll be first in line to grab it. Or you could re-release your joke book and write a snappy forward (LOL!)

I just want to sympathize about being very tall at a young age. I was 5’4” when I was 12. I was almost a year older than most of my classmates because I was born in September. I stopped growing when I was 13 and am also about 5’6”. I still today think of myself as being tall even though I really am not! Luckily I never started slouching!

I read this while finally caramelizing onions for the lentil salad I intended to make in July, so yes. Fall is for cooking. What was I thinking in July?

I love the beret and can't wait to see you in it!

p.s. my fall crafts are usually Halloween costumes, but I try to alternate between homemade and store-bought every year and I think this will be a store-bought year, depending on how many Thor variations are available for purchase
