As someone who has always been called by their middle name, I am very familiar with the struggle of your ID not matching any of your credit cards, etc., so Busy definitely has my condolences! I spent my entire college experience being addressed by the wrong name because when I applied, I had to put both my first and middle name in the application form, so the school automatically defaulted to using my first name for everything. After explaining the situation and trying to get it fixed multiple times, I finally just gave up and resigned myself to living life as a Megan for those two years.

The shit Busy had to go through at the airport car rental is ridiculous.. I once landed in Miami & had a reservation & prepaid & all the things & these mofos would not give us the car because my at the time my husbands, but now ex husbands, credit card would not allow a car rental... we went around in circles for over an hour before I don’t know wtf happened & they finally gave us the car we paid for!

Please don't ever listen to people that tell you to make this shorter. Saved up 2 episodes to keep me distracted in colonoscopy prep. Cheers!!!

UPDATE:We are trying to resolve this peacefully with the owner. I'm really hoping that positive changes can be made without involving ACLU. Fingers Crossed!

I am so broken right now. I have a medic alert service dog who goes with me everywhere. Yesterday, I tried to take my dad to a restaurant in Lancaster Pennsylvania called C'est la Vie. A woman came out of the restaurant and blacked us from coming in because I had a dog. My dad explained that my dog is a service dog (trained through an organization in KS). The lady said NO dogs are allowed. When I asked her if she new it was illegal to refuse to let us in, she told us she knew and didn't care. I asked if she wanted to call the police to settle this. She said no and left us standing in the street. I let anger get the best of me and flipped her off through the window

The restaurant is now claiming that they weren't open and I had a potty mouth. This is a lie. Per state and federal laws, I am allowed to bring my dog into a restaurant. It has never been an issue. I am asking my fellow podcast listeners to help make a change.

Thank you! We have finally spoken to the owner. A little gaslighting (from him) took place, but we shut that down immediately. We have requested sensitivity training for his staff, an acknowledgement/apology, and a sign on the door stating that no pets are allowed, but service dogs are welcome. After these things happen, we will meet at the restaurant to try to understand why the staff member acted like she did. We are hoping to resolve this peacefully, without having to take legal action. Fingers crossed.

Love the Jessamyn conversation! And Caissie, I was in nyc on 9/11 too and it will always be my city too. Always felt that, but never quite heard it said that way. Thank you.

Loved the convo about doing something for your parents or having our lives full filling our parents dreams. It clicked for me, because my story is similar to that of Caissie and Jessamyn. What breaks my heart is that my mom would never see it this way, her resentment is very blinding.

Someone (Caissie:) please tell Busy about Turo car share! It’s like AirBnB but for cars. Cheaper than a rental agency, they bring the car to the arrival gate and you can choose from really cool cars. #Notsponsored;)

Loved this one!

In a game of “are you more Busy’s friend or Caissie’s friend” in regards to packing... I am Caissie’s friend!! So much thought goes into how I pack. Not an item or amount of space wasted!

What a car story! I listened while on a little road trip. Perfect!

Also LOVE jessamyn! I’ve known of her work for years. What a great guest pick!

Love to all this week xo

I haven't gotten to the Jessamyn part yet, but I just want to say I've been enjoying the on demand classes from Underbelly since the middle of the Pandi, and right now the Major Arcana series is absolutely wonderful.

I need all packing, how to dress myself, links to dual-purpose clothing items NOW. Caissie is a fashion influencer. Also, LOVE Jessamyn. So wise. I'm 51 and keep getting an IG ad that says "You're not old. You just need to stretch." Putting my tight, achy joints in yoga poses is not fun but I know it makes me feel better. I needed to hear from Jessamyn. Unrelated - has anyone watched The Gentle Art of Swedish Death Cleaning and can we discuss?

Packing Skills! I agree so much with the color palette, but maybe even more importantly, what shoes will you need and/or will you want to take. I always start with shoes and then color palette.

I have a lot of shoes, so I pick from the color story I choose. I probably should have fewer pairs, but they all work, so I’m keeping them. 🤣

Same. For me it depends on destination and purpose of trip. There are some shoes that I really only wear for work trips, otherwise it’s all about anticipated activities. And, important to know, that I usually travel carry on, so I have to be a ruthless editor.

My mom makes fun of me for my neutral color palette when I come to visit, but I know I can mix and match and look great regardless of weather or activity if I pack that way. When she comes to visit me, she’s o surprised when I wear a random color.

Caissie, could you post the link to the in depth birth chart you did? Not yours specifically but the site you had it done?

This conversation showed up at the exact right moment for me this week. Specifically, the realization that we have no idea what is going to happen and that any x amount of time ago we would not have predicted this exact circumstance that our life unfolded into. I also loved Jessamyn's pivot story. And Caissie, I love the way you articulated our attempts to grab it all AS IF we somehow can.

I've been turning over this big decision lately feeling like I have all of this control and one miscalculation will bring me to total midlife ruin. As I was driving on the 2 and listening to the conversation, I laughed. I'm not gonna grab it up.
