Once again a podcast episode that resonates. First, Caissie, congratulations on finding a florist that did you right on the owl floral arraignment. Ordering flowers is probably the hardest thing ever. No matter how much research you do and how good the pictures on the web look, often when they arrive at their destination, they look nothing like what you ordered. I’m so happy to see you found a florist who understood and did the right thing.

Second, Happy Birthday Busy! From the pictures I saw on Insta, you had a great time and the podcast confirms it. I understand exactly what you mean by how much longer it takes to recover. Used to be a couple of aspirin and a cup of coffee. Now takes a couple of days. And truth be told, often I’m in bed earlier than the time I used to leave the house to go clubbing. But I’m glad you had a great time celebrating.

Going back a couple of weeks, I had a good laugh listening to the event with Michelle Williams and the creature in her car (maybe a large mouse, maybe a small rat). I’ve never had an unexpected rider in Jeep, and the closest I get is when Gus Cat was still around and he woke me up at 2:30am to let me know there was a bat in the house. Near as I could figure, the bat crawled in through the air vent for the gas water heater and once it got in, it couldn’t get out. But once Gus started chasing it I had to get out of bed and do something. Here are my notes on that event.

First, if you sleep in the nude and you need to get up to chase down a bat, it’s probably a good idea to put some clothes on.

Second, you’ll need a plan. I had no idea how to catch a bat. The only experience I had was from watching movies where they chased bats using tennis rackets. As I don’t play tennis, this did me no good. Also, I really didn’t want to hurt the bat. Eventually I came up with a plan to try and knock it out of the air using a large bath towel. Maybe I should look into taking up pickleball.

Third, spreading a bath towel and then tossing it at a bat to try and knock it out of the air is not as easy as it sounds. Especially as you’ll be running around to try and position yourself and while Gus Cat meant well, he was actually in the way more than he was a help.

Fourth, if you choose not to put anything on at the beginning of the process, when you finally do catch the bat, it’s likely he’ll escape while you run off to get dressed so you can take it outside to release it and you’ll have to start over.

Fifth, you also need a plan to swaddle the bat in the towel so you can move it. If you don’t things will get tangled up and as the bat struggles it will likely escape again because of your fear of getting bit and either catching rabies or becoming a vampire.

Sixth. The moment you unwrap the bat to release it is not the moment to think you should have closed the door to prevent the bat from flying back into the house. Also as you close the door, it’s important to not lock yourself out of the house. Luckily locking myself out was not an issue as I have an electronic lock on the front door and can remember the code.

Anyway, soon after this adventure, I had a contractor come by and install a varmint screen over the vent opening to prevent it from happening again.

Just another example of “if it’s something weird it will likely happen at my house. .

Take care everyone. Be kind to others when you can.

Oh, and Caissie, thanks for the video of the vintage stove and the picture of the rocket launch, both of which I’m jealous of.

Finally listened to the pod. I felt so bad for Emily BB! I had my gall bladder out 13 years ago and I thought I was having a heart attack or a blood clot at the time. It was awful!

My husband and I also watched Dark and whenever a new season came out we would start from the beginning because it is so confusing. Busy should check out some of the family trees people have made online. It’s wild.

I’m ordering some of that glossing detangler for me and my daughter because it sounds amazing. Love you guys and thanks for all the content. 😘

1) Still loving the QVC Show. Delightful. 2) I woke up this morning feeling very sad (life, etc.) and nothing was able to break through it, and then I downloaded the newest podcast episode. Thank you both for helping me finally feel better, just by being you. Love you both to bits ♥️ Also, yes, please, on the magic show!
