Super late to this convo but sadly no, there are no more Ricky’s in Manhattan. There were 2 in Greenwich Village: one on 8th Street and one on 6th Ave. After they went out, Spirit Halloween popped up in the 6th Ave location until it was rented. It popped up directly across the street from the one on 8th.

Can we add Jennifer Garner to the list of celebs who are allowed to do cooking videos on Insta? Hers are obviously only done by her with maybe one person holding her phone and they’re delightful videos. Plus she’s the most endearing human and we should cherish her

I lovvvve Jennifer Garner, but I think she might be one of those celebs that pays someone to help her do her social media. I have no evidence other than, who would hang out even with the delightful Jennifer Garner all day making videos about what she's cooking and what's in her purse???

re tonsils - I got mine out when I was 30; my doctor kept telling me I had an "angry throat" (and I had a lot of strep throat infections). Have not had strep since!

Such a relief not to get that bi-annually now!

We moved to a new house a couple months ago and didn't know what to expect with the trick or treaters. Our old neighborhood never get anyone, and we were the only people on our block on our new street to decorate (with our 20 foot skelie!). I bought two bags of candy just in case, but we were almost out within 30 minutes. It was exciting but we were unprepared! We ended up raiding our pantry and giving out granola bars, mini chip bags and boxes of raisins. One wee trick or treater even asked so very sweetly for a raisin box! I love Halloween and I'm so sad it's over!

In response to Caissie asking if kids would be mad about getting pencils during trick-or-treating:

We didn't hand out pencils, but this year we decided to hand out some non-food items (along with the traditional candy), and the kids big and small went bananas over them! We had mini play-doh tubs, mini Halloween-themed bubble wands, and some little Halloween character squishies on our trick-or-treat table. I was SHOCKED at how many "big kids" (teens included) went absolutely wild for bubbles and play-doh! They practically ignored our big candy bowl. I started begging kids to take some candy, because I did NOT want to have leftovers! ha! I also heard at least 5 kids tell their friends "THIS IS THE BEST HOUSE!" I truly felt like I won Halloween! haha!

I don't have kids so I can only imagine how much it hurts to have them crap on the things you enjoy, but I'm so happy for Busy that she does have fun, fulfilling hobbies outside of motherhood. My mom never did (I can count on one hand the number of times I remember us even hosting or going to dinner with her friends!) and I think that's part of why she's now the 'overly enmeshed' type of mother who still tries to make decisions for me despite me being in my 30s. Having an identity outside of parenthood is important!

I commented about this on FB....but since Busy isn't on there....thought I'd mention it here! Busy may be giving strep to herself. I kept giving myself strep in the 90s. My tonsils were infected and the source. Once those were removed I haven’t had strep!

This week was great - but that pep talk Caissie gave Busy at the end of the pod? Flawless. ❤️ May we all have friends who care for our souls like that. ✨
