Caissie! I bought one of the printers you bought for Busy, and I absolutely adore it! I'm in an MFA program, so I am keeping a reading journal. When I read printed books, I underline in there and write notes and quotes in my journal. When I do ebooks, I can now use the printer to print stuff out that I highlight digitally and stick it in my journal! It's worked really well so far. Thanks for sharing the link!

I want to be in your planner gang. Unfortunately I can fill my planner out all 12 months in advance and that might not be fair. Please advise. Also, I am color blind so the pen matters most.

LOVE all the sticky ideas! The notes will do wonders for me and of course why have we never used the bday stickers for when we actually need them?!? That Caissie wisdom coming through again!

Deserving!

I was on vacation until the 6th and had a Christmas celebration that was postponed due to a Covid case within my family on the 7th. So I am not counting any of that time against myself. But I desperately need some motivation to get myself going in regular life mode again.

I'm not entirely in Planner Gang to the full extent, but I do do a stripped down bullet journal, and my best friend bought me a mindfulness journal called "two minute mornings" where you have daily (although not necessarily every day - you write the date at the top so you never have to be confronted by missed pages) prompts of "I will let go of..." "I am grateful for..." and "I will focus on..." I am very bad at personal reflection and perceiving myself (thanks to Swole Woman Casey Johnston for that term) and I want to get better.

I love the birthday reminder idea. I am actually quite good at choosing presents for people, but what I am bad at is remembering about them in advance. My personal tip is a note on your phone shared with everyone in your household. Put the shopping list there and then when one person is in the supermarket they can just consult the note and get shopping. As long as they remember to tick the items off so you don't end up with four brand new ketchups...

I’m loving all this planner / organizational chatter & ideas! While I’m not *technically* on a planner journey, I did just invest in TWO (who do I think I am?) journal varieties. One is geared toward Self-Care with writing prompts, affirmations and lots of hype-up stuff. The other is mostly free space where I plan to do some ‘vision board’ type work...working with my therapist on this being a year of prioritizing “me” 😇 SO...all of this organization insight is VERY helpful! Xoxo

Thanks, Caissie & all of you besties.

I tried a cool planner in 2023 and it’s been untouched since May (definitely not to yuck anyone’s yum!) - so I don’t think it’s for me to reattempt but I’m about to unbox a reMarkable I bought myself for my birthday and hoping it’s as life changing as people claim 😁

I’ve decided Not to get a planner, but I am trying to eat more healthy and I’m feeling good about that! We’re all on a journey and I’m glad to share it with you! Caissie, Thanks for being there for us all! ❤️

I got my planner and some new ink joy gel pens to go with it! I opted for a planner that helps me track spending, since that’s the issue I need the most help with. I LOVE the sticky note idea!!! I might have to put it to use. The little canon printer is cool too. That’s a great birthday gift idea for my teen daughter; she’ll love printing pics from her phone. Caissie, you are just full of great ideas, and I’m so happy you’re so generous in sharing with us 💕

My planner was purchased in plenty of time (a Papier softbound spiral, because I NEED the dang thing to lay flat), and is still mostly untouched. I think I put a sticker for my birthday thus far, and that’s it. Womp. I’m hoping to sit down and devote some real time to it tonight or tomorrow morning! For various reasons, today was my official start to the new year, so trying not to be too down on myself. Looking forward to the Zoom!

Angela, I swear to g*d, even if you just draw a heart or a star on one page tonight, it might break some kind of psychic seal your planner still has for you, LOL!

I love this post Cassie! If you try one, depending how your mind works, mind maps are a cool way to identify and plan tasks around an event. And you can keep adding and adding to it. I like to use different colours for each seperate branch coming out of the main central event, objective or task

I love all these ideas! I believe only writing utensils that bring joy should ever be used! My planner faves are Papermate Flairs as they come in so many colors and have a wide enough tip they feel more like markers which I like. I also love a simple ballpoint pen. I can go through my detailed reasonings for why I use which pens and for what during the Zoom but in general if you keep it consistent, it makes finding your personal notes way easier to spot from your work/tasks just by flipping through if you only use certain colors for certain things. Also, if your planner brings you shame from blank pages-get a more flexible planner!! Shame is never ok and the whole point of planning/journaling for me is to help and make me feel better. I know we can all agree reducing shame is a major goal of this community. I also track monthly activities after they occur and it’s a wonderful journal and memory reminder when you look back. My daughter likes to read them all the time too. I keep track of my appointments mostly in my email and phone so having a written historical recount of the highlights of any given day is nice. I love the idea of picture stickers and that printer is now on my shopping list. :) I have an amazing pen bag that turns into a cup that is a MUST for any of my fellow pen enthusiasts. Not sure how to share the link but I might could do it during the zoom!

It’s called a telescopic pencil bag holder and it brings me so much joy that I get giddy showing it to basically anyone who will listen. You can search it on Amazon and it should pop up, they have a few different kinds. If you want to support a local CA shop though, take a look at jetpens.com -but only if you have time (and budget) to get giddy at all the planner supplies. They have the telescopic bags in so many kinds it’s amazing. They have stickers and truly everything. I follow them as well on Instagram. They don’t have a physical store which is probably a good thing as you would get lost in all the stuff they have and walk out like I do every time I go to Target-spending 5x the amount of what I went in there for to begin with.

Jetpens is so great! I’m evangelical about them and buy stuff from them a couple times a year - partially because I have these fill-it-yourself gel multipens (my brand is sadly discontinued but the refills aren’t).

Just put “Planner Gang” on Saturday in my planner. (12n EST, thanks timeanddate.com for the sanity check there.)

I love the secondary “plan to do something for impending important event” idea, and I’m trying to figure how to do that for my date-it-yourself bullet journal. Is my inability there why my husband and I don’t do anything for our anniversary? Maybe!

Janet, same. We beefed it on our 25th anniversary last year. Still annoyed with us for that!
