Just finished listening to this week’s podcast and loved the framing of liberals being focused on humanity and Republicans on power and money. It seems like in a healthy democracy, you’d have parties focusing on doing the best for their constituents and also being fiscally responsible in spending their citizens’ money. Also, contrasting views on how big government should be, how involved it should be in people’s personal decisions, etc. It is just so depressing where we are currently at!!!

I do want to say that I really appreciate how much Busy and Cassie do to help and that you are using your voices, which are far more powerful than Jane Citizen’s, to try to do right though I know it’s exhausting! I wish we could all send you some energy to help keep you going strong!

I would love some career advice (from you guys or the community here) on getting back to work after staying at home for 10 years after having kids. (A huge privilege to be able to do that, I know.) I am now 40 and have a college degree, but I don’t want to go back into the field I was in before. What can you put on a resume that has a 10 year job gap? I’m so intimidated and feel like I’m not marketable now. It’s slightly terrifying!

Busy. Please put any Imposter Syndrome away. You are the talent and the light. Own it! Caissie gets to give you a great pep talk on the pod. Caissie’s right. 🥰

This is a bit late re: Quiet on Set. I haven't watched it yet but I wrote for a Nickelodeon show in NYC and you would not believe the standards and practices notes we got- they were sooooo detailed and clearly thought out and people were really reading every word we wrote. We had them printed and pasted up all over the writer's room (to entertain us) so I'm so shocked at how much they simply let him get away with on the west coast. This is when Dan S was an open secret and everyone was telling horror stories about him and warning new people to stay away and yet he was still employed... also, everyone was background checked on my set but hilariously MINE had some snag and didn't come in until like 3 weeks into shooting so they took a risk since I was working directly with the kids- I was the only woman in the writer's room. Crew that was not background checked could not work directly with the kids... this probably is also because of the past and learning from the mistakes of the other shows and our show was small. It's truly scary to think about though! One detail this all made me remember though is that we did a stunt with Sam and Cat and we got a message from the west coast about what a bitch Ariana G is and that working with her would be a nightmare. She was a total delight and super funny so we were like "why did someone go out of his way to tell us that??" why indeed.

Not an advice question but a podcast idea, I would love more beauty and fashion tips, tricks, etc for the over 40 gang. Adore both your styles and in particular how fun and fresh and unique.

It’s a bit of a broad (and old as time) question but how does one keep up with life? I’ve recently gotten into working out and as much as I enjoy it, I’ve noticed that now there are even less hours in a day and I go to bed with half of my to-do list still unchecked. What’s the best way to keep up with your work, home, hobbies, staying in touch with your family and friends but also finding time to make sure your own health is taken care of, too? Feels like I’m constantly running out of time and it just brings so much unwanted dissatisfaction with everything.

Thank you ❤️

I'd love to ask your advice about how to find my new purpose, now that I'm 52, kids are flown the nest, and I'm no longer taking care of other people 24/7. How do I figure out who I am NOW?
