I am never on substack and saw this today! I know this is about 5 months later but maybe someone will see this! I'm Sarah, live in NYC, 41, live with husband and our almost 4 year old guy. I have a boring (but necessary) corporate job and still feel like I'm finding myself? Hah! Pandemic did a number on me in terms of throwing me way out of a routine, have stuck to staying at home a lot but trying to get back out and socialize! A lot of friends left during pandemic and even before. Anyway, I like seeing shows (of truly any type) love a museum, stand up, karaoke, fashion, food, movies etc etc If this makes it way to Anyone, I'm DTF. Down to friend. Lolz

Hi all. Hope you’re doing well, I’m doing my best -- thank you B & C for this community!!

Reaching out, looking for friends in Barcelona!! I’m moving next month from San Francisco; bringing-along 2 dogs, 1 partner and a container full of stuff. I’m 51 years, just semi-retired 😳 from Tech industry. I’m into my adult-age daughter (she’s staying in USA 😭); funny, smart and kind humans as well as food, wine & filthy martinis, feminist art, books, music, travel, new experiences. Starting the next chapter and looking for friends to enjoy it!

XO, Jenn

Hi! I'm interested in joining a group chat, if it's not too late. I'm a freelance cinematographer and camera operator based in Los Angeles. I've been listening to the pod since the lockdown, which has been a saving grace! My schedule can be weird at times and sometimes I work long hours, but it would be great to make new friends. I love music and going to concerts, photography, art, painting and crafting, and walking in the hills. I'm dedicated to taking great care of my cat, Garbo, who has CKD & IBD. She's an adventure cat and my everything! I also enjoy writing and I'm currently developing a documentary on the student loan debt crisis. I'm vegan and gluten free, but I love french fries!

Anyway, it would be great to chat. I'm also on Instagram @cine_shoe. Thanks!! ♥️

Hi Angelia! I’m in LA too. I’d love to be in a group chat. I haven’t found out yet, although i have made some 1:1 friends from this chat. I actually went to the opening of the Tim walker Exhibit wonderful things at the Getty last night. Have you heard of it? It’s beautifully done. I definitely recommend going!!

Hey y’all! Very late to the game here but was waiting for some things to settle in my life before sharing my plans on the internet. Hopefully someone still sees this! I’m Nicole, 22 (apologies in advance if I inevitably slip into Gen-Z-speak), from Raleigh, NC, but moving to LA next month for an internship* post-grad. I’m a writer; I love television, especially a good sitcom; I’ve been a Swiftie for more than 77% of my life (yes, I did the math); my favorite pasta shape is farfalle and I quite literally could not survive without Cheerwine. I’d love to meet new people in LA, especially women a little older/wiser than me that I can learn from/look up to — whether that’s a mom-type, the older sister I never had or even a fun wine aunt. Would also thoroughly like to meet any pets you might have! Anyway, if you’ve read all the way through this, I appreciate you and I hope you have a great rest of your week!

*It’s a very convoluted story, but I am fully convinced that had I not started following Busy on Instagram when I was 16, I wouldn’t have gotten the internship — which is at a dream company. Fate, am I right? (Thanks, Busy!)

I might be the actual latest to the this, but figured what better time than the present, haha. I was in a few group chats with some great people before, but they fizzled out. I'm 36, single, no kids, from NY. I'm also really into politics, political activism, and in activist volunteer groups. I'm a TV junkie, just got into Yellowjackets but watch a lot of other stuff, new and old. I work in banking and looking for a new role while I wait to get the official "notice" as my company went through a very public meltdown recently (or maybe a career pivot of my own?)

I also like to get outside and exercise a lot so if anyone is looking for a walking friend in the Hudson Valley, NY, let me know. I'd love to start a group chat no matter where you live, though!

If there are any others out there that haven't linked up with anyone, let me know. I'm also going to read through the prior comments now. Talk soon, hopefully!

Where in the Hudson valley are you? Hudson here, in case you’re close!

Hi Shauna! It doesn’t look like you’re the latest. Better late than never so they say. What is your favorite TV show right now? I would love to be in a group chat with you and Raina about politics, TV and you guys can inform me about yellow jackets🤣 since I don’t have that streaming service.

Hey Stephanie! Right now I’d have to say my favorite is Ted Lasso, how about you? If you’re comfortable, send me an email at sford622@gmail.com and we can coordinate.

I missed the memo, but hopefully not too late! I'm a 48yo living in the Bay Area with my husband of 25 years, one of my teens (the other is in college), and our little mutt. I'm a CMF designer working mostly from home which has been hard. I'm an extrovert with introvert tendencies... I gain energy and inspiration form being around people, but I have a hard time motivating to be around people, so it's been hard to get back out there post pandemic... or maybe it's just the ADD exacerbated by peri-menopause??

Since 2020 I have lost 3 parents (one in-law), a handful of close friends (not to death, just drifted apart), and my love of reading.

I'm hoping this group can help me with that reading part... anyone interested in starting a Besties book club?? Could be local/in-person or over zoom?

Would like to connect with other people who love a good book but maybe need some motivation to read. Or maybe you are an avid reader who wants more people to discuss with. Or maybe reading a good book is just an excuse to connect with others and end up discussing life more than the book?? All of those sound good to me! so let me know if you are interested and we will figure it out!

Fully here for a BPIDHB book club! I'll read just about anything. I'm in St. Louis though, so in-person is probably not an option, but zoom is fun too!

Hi folks! My name is Devon, I’m in Boston (Somerville, a half a block from the Boston line, so Boston/next to the train). I am 43, work for Boston Children’s Hospital, a non-profit Board President/volunteer, and someone always looking to keep busy/do something good. I don’t like it to be the only thing that defines me, but I am a cancer survivor. My experience with cancer helps me live life to the fullest, usually. I host cocktail parties and convince people to do local clean ups and am a good friend, so if any of this appeals to you, send me a note or find me on Instagram! @devonwmoos

Hey friends, so my name is Ashley and I am from sw Florida - Ft. Myers area. I just turned 41 last week. I am married with 2 kids a teen and tween. I love being out in nature. I practice yoga and teach yoga. Although, I am not into hot yoga. Its already too hot where I live, and getting over heated working out does not work for me. I love the water - paddleboarding, and kayaking. I love to read, pretty sure being able to escape into a book, keeps me sane.

Hi Besties. I live in south Florida. 40 years old with one 19 year old daughter. I travel most of the week for work so holding down meaning for friendships are a little hard. Going through a divorce as well. Love outdoor activities-kayaking, bicycling, just hanging out in the sun. Other hobbies are reading, diy’s, and my plants. Hope to meet some new friends.

Hi - I'm 53 and live in Toronto, Canada. I'm married and have two kids still in high school (one graduating soon) and I have a dog and a cat, who don't get along (the animals not the humans). I like reading (especially historical fiction), watching TV, riding my peloton and listening to podcasts while I walk my dog. I have stayed home with my kids till now but very recently have decided to get a job...not sure what yet.

I work from home, also have a side photography biz, and two teens (one graduates in June....eek!). Love traveling and long walks on the beach....the ocean literally soothes my soul.

Im 36, live in Detroit, have a 2 year old and am generally late to the party like I am to this thread. I currently stay at home taking care of my toddler and historic home but I am hoping to do more freelance design work when he starts school this summer. Love all things Detroit, art, architecture, community, and light tv (no CSI or murder podcasts over here). Would love to join a group text or meet for coffee/cocktails!

I am late to the party so I’m going to read through and see if there are any matches. I’m 40yo, live in central NC, am married with no kids. I have six nephews and one niece, ranging in ages from 1-28yo. I love kids but life didn’t take me there and after a lot of therapy I’m ok with that. I love animals and currently have two cats. I work in retail. I am a bra fit specialist. I have struggled with a lot of health problems in my adult years, including chronic tick borne illnesses. I have an official and recent ADHD diagnosis (I’ve known for a long time). I am having to relearn a lot of things and give myself grace. I am struggling with anxiety and depression at the moment. I became a Taylor Swift fan in 2020 when I listened to Folklore and Evermore on the way to and from therapy for PTSD and now she is like a therapist. I am going to see her this summer and I am so excited! I love podcasts and tv. I love binge watching tv but I’m not big into reality tv. I’m more of a fan of nonfiction over fiction but I haven’t been able to finish a book since before the pandemic. I am willing to be open to anything. I am also working on strengthening current friendships and looking to make new ones.

Hello! I am Jenna and am a Scottish person who lives in Texas. I am a musician and artist but with a corporate day job. I live with a fellow musician husband (also with a non music day job) and two wonderful neurodivergent boys. Hi! I'm also in Texas. Avid music listener and love to attend concerts, especially small local bands. I have two kids, boy and girl, and one husband. I own my own photography company. I'm not an artist so to speak but I really appreciate art and music and food. I consider myself a bit of a connoisseur especially when it comes to food. I have worked in the restaurant industry off and on over the years and I love it. Plus I just really love food!

I haven’t listened to SOS yet; I understand why they did it but I think it’s unnecessary. I hate that Larry is so broken he’s unable to play in Vegas. I suspect my U2 shows are in the past. Our experiences couldn’t be topped.

The scene of Bono singing in the studio with Dave enraptured was just magnificent. I love that song! It’s an excellent “sing at the top of your lungs in the car” song.

I actually think the majority of SOS is pretty good, with a few that are just a mess, but i wholeheartedly agree that it is 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯 unnecessary. Just, WHY. Nobody asked for this. They could have just put together a greatest hits-type package of the songs in the book, or even recorded the book tour shows!

I definitely plan to watch the special sooner rather than later. I am going to attempt to do ONE Vegas show. 🤞🏻🤞🏻 i have a bunch of Tori Amos shows already on the calendar this summer and fall trips to NOLA & NYC planned, so the timing is less than ideal. 😬
