I didn't realise Bob's your Uncle isn't a thing in the States! How funny.
You can change how your phone stores photos and get jpegs back if you go to settings > camera > formats and choose "most compatible". I don't think anyone already said this and I know I'm two months late, but it is what it is...
Late to the party on this but three things giving me joy this week:
1) Finding out that an AWESOME new ramen joint is opening up very close to where I live in Chicago and I think it will be slurptastic. Tell me I am not the only one who slurps pho or ramen in the privacy of their own home.
I have those lavender toilet stamps too-just got a couple of weeks ago. Totally related to your description of popping them in there.
Here’s my 3 little things getting me through the week...
1. Finally getting out of the house for something besides work this week-tickets this Friday to see one of my fave comedians Cameron Esposito in NYC.
2.Munchkins. a coworker brought them in and does anyone else get super excited and transported back in time to when kids would bring Munchkins into school when it was their birthday. My co-workers weren’t big on the jelly ones so I had them all to myself.
3.Driving on Main Street in my town the other day-I saw a coming soon sign hanging on a recently closed restaurant
“I Am Nacho Mama” YES a nacho party awaits!!! So if anyone is in NY and near Port Washington maybe we can have a Nacho night when it opens!
Cameron is THE BEST! Her new set is so good! Munchkins always make me feel like a kid again. Did you see Ben & J. Lo getting Dunkin together today? Bliss! LOL about I Am Nacho Mama! Please send pics when it opens.
I hadn’t seen Ben & Jen at Dunkin, but of course just checked it out-Wow! Even JLo can’t stop his love for Dunkin. I’ll share a pic when “I am nacho Mama” opens.
Fashionably late to this party! The three things that got me through the week...
1. Conversations with a wonderful friend who always seems to put my mind at ease.
2. Picking my mom up at the airport after her three week vacation. Flapping my hand out the window and screaming, “Mom, over here!” Big smiles, threw her bag in the trunk, and then she said, “Let’s get the hell out of here.” She’s really the best.
3. Last but not least, bringing my A game to my high school best friend’s wedding. Felt pretty nostalgic all weekend, and, on further reflection, came to the conclusion that we all need more joy in our lives. So, I held nothing back; I gave all the smiles, crushed my speech, brought all the drinks, and hit that dance floor like it was nobody’s business. Honestly, I think the memory of that day will probably be one of the three things getting me through this week.
I haven’t had a chance to read all the comments, but keep doing your best everyone! ❤️
Also, if you have time, call your oldest friend and just chat, like nothing heavy, just chat and vibe and enjoy each other. I feel like we all need that right now!
for xmas, my husband gifted me the sharpest fabric scissors (well, I had identified them) and they are wonderful. Also, I feel this is the space to say that I just spent over 100 bucks on kitchen organizers because I feel pretty flipping great about it: a plastic lid organizer, two fridge slider shelves, and the best thing: a ziplock bag organizer. It's entirely possible that this shopping spree was inspired by an Apartment Therapy post. I can neither confirm or deny.
It really is. I was looking at our totally disorganized kitchen shelves the other day and then literally THE NEXT DAY there was an AT article featuring this (https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B0B46TGDJR?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) and was like HOW DID YOU KNOW, APARTMENT THERAPY! We wash out and save (most) of the ziplocks so this will maybe stop us from just shoving them back on the shelf. I mean, probably not, but a girl can hope.
I came to say... heic files are a PITA to deal with on the computer (and my devices are all apple). I'm sure there must be an easier way, but so far... I don't love dealing with them.
I love your three little things, Caissie. Hangers are so key, too. I only get mine from the container store bc I spoil myself.
My three little things that have gotten me through the week: a) I’m getting my first tattoo Tuesday night, on my right forearm. I’m excited, anxious, and hopeful. b) I’m seeing a Cherub musical showcase Thursday night. I can’t wait to hear some great singing! c) I’m seeing Laurie Kilmartin do a comedy show on Saturday night. Once upon a time I thought I might be a comic, (and who knows, maybe that’s down the road) and I love seeing comics who are well-loved by other comics. It is so enjoyable.
1. Thai delivery! I've tried & failed multiple times to make decent Thai pineapple chicken curry at home, I now accept this will be a dish I will never conquer and celebrated the acceptance of my defeat with my favourite meal delivered to my door to celebrate our 6 year legal* wedding anniversary.
2. Yoga. Specifically free yoga via my YouTube premium subscription. More specifically the channels Yoga with Shaunnuka & My Yoga Time.
3. Acupuncture!
*We eloped and then had a destination wedding for my in-laws in December of the same year. Yes, we celebrate both anniversaries every year! If I had to plan, pay for, and participate in an entire wedding for other people, I am going to celebrate it for us annually!

Bob's your uncle. Best thing I've ever heard.
Sitting on a train and laughing/crying at “Bob’s your uncle” 😂
I was influenced to buy these in that scent!

2) Planning a staycation. The hubs and I totally forgot about a hotel stay we won in a silent auction LAST year. Cashing it in.
3.) Heirloom tomatoes. Kinda the ugly stepchild of the tomato fam that taste amazing.
I’m gonna have to investigate those hangers! I too have closets that were created before I was born.
I have those lavender toilet stamps too-just got a couple of weeks ago. Totally related to your description of popping them in there.

Yeahhh currently at target and definitely buying the lavender toilet stamps! They should give you a kickback, Caissie!
HAHA! Let me know how you like them!
They are a giant hit so far. My daughter is about to move into her first college apartment and wants some of her own.
So proud. My husbands verdict was “it smells nice! More like lavender than poo!”

That last bit of advice is so wise. Glad you had a great weekend.
Thanks, Caissie! ❤️

Just leave us alone for a couple years, Apple!

Some days I feel like these are all I have.
I’m very dramatic.
You are exactly the right amount of dramatic for me, LOL!

Reading everyone’s posts is my hit of serotonin!
For me:
1. Patti Smith’s Just Kids on the Libby App audiobook. Love the free library app❤️
2. Seeing Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris with a good friend in a cool theater with AC! Cute, escapist movie.

I’m a Libby lover! It’s my most fruitful discovery. 🤣
The Libby app is one of my favourite things EVER!! I 🧡 libraries!!!
I gotta check out Mrs. Harris!!!
