I am so late to this, as a single parent, I have a hard time keeping up.. I am Ina, originally from Albania, tiny country in Southeastern EU. Moved away at 18 to travel the world, I have lived in Spain, Italy,Greece, Serbia, USA and now Canada. As a result I am fluent in 4 languages: Albanian, Spanish, Italian and English. And I can also conversationally speak Greek, Portuguese and French. I did my undergrad studies in Boston, MA. I live with my 7 year old daughter Luna in Toronto. In Feb 2021 kind of like Busy, I decided that my life needed some major changes, as I am constantly battling with mental health issues: persistent depressive disorder, generalized anxiety and bipolar disorder. I quit my corporate job (how millennial of me) to dedicate myself full time to my online micro bakery. During that transition I also realized there was no romantic feelings between my husband and I and we had become roommates. So in 1 month I let go of marriage, and my financial security but I have 0 regrets. I finally feel hopeful about the future and I feel I am contributing way more to the community around me. I just registered to start my LSAT prep and I am planning to enroll in Law School in fall 2024. I love listening to the podcast every week and love the BPIDHB FB group. Love this community of great people. Can't wait to meet you all virtually. xoxo
Hello! My name is Alaina. I'm 35 years old and was born and raised in the midwest. My husband and I live in Chicago with our two dogs and I work in sales. Some of my interests include reading, running/biking, embroidery, and having incredibly strong opinions about gummy candy and old fashioneds.
While I love nachos from a good restaurant, my favorite nachos are stadium nachos. The combination of insanely salty round yellow chips + shelf-stable pump cheese + jalapenos = *chef's kiss*.
Hi. I'm Jenn - 53, Latina, born and bred in the Bronx (the other Jenny from the block!)
I now live in NJ with my hubs and pooch Sammie. I build schools for NYC, and was a lobbyist for a number of years. I know how the sausage is made, and it's worse than you can imagine. That said, I believe we are all activists in small and LARGE ways. We teach ourselves and others that we have power that has always been underestimated. We can, will, and always fight!
I'm inspired by Cassie and Busy. They lay it out there - their anger, hope, humor, frustration -- I'm here for all of it!
p.s. BUSY try to like NY! We will love, embrace and fight a MF for you!
Hi my name is Kelsey. I'm 39 (about to turn 40 this year and oddly excited) and I live in Chicago with my husband, twins Chalrlie and Jameson (6) and our dog Penny. I am teach soon to be dietitians and do intermittent fasting research at UIC here in Chicago. Part time I also coach at a "crossfit type" gym and do olympic style weightlifting for a hobby. I love this podcast. It feels fun, and heavy, and cathartic, all at the same time. It's probaly why we all feel like we are friends! I love nachos any way but can't handle too many Jalapenos since being pregnant so I usually give those to my huusband.
Hi all, my name is Katie. I'm 31 and live in SW Montana with my husband and our dog and two cats. I've listened from the beginning, and always appreciated the podcast length for my commute! I share Caissie's love for Duluth (lived there for 7 years). I'm currently a special education teacher, and am also an Army veteran, but I have *feelings* about the military and our country that aren't probably the veteran norm. I enjoy writing, gardening, reading in my hammock, camping, hunting for vintage bargains, swimming in mountain lakes, and cooking/eating dumplings. My nachos don't feel complete without sour cream and cilantro, but meat is not a requirement--I'm very much here for the cheese.
Mandy, here. My full first name is Mandy. Growing up Jewish in a not-very-Jewish area, my parents gave my sibling and I short, sweet, easy names to take the edge off our eastern European last name. I figure they cannot give me guff for maybe never being a fully grown and responsible adult because they gave me a name that does not age. Right??
I live in the DMV (NoVA), but will always say I am from Pennsylvania. I am an HR Specialist for a federal agency. Married, mom to an almost-teen.
Nacho toppings? I don't have a specific, but the whole thing needs to be not so loaded that it's no longer crisp/crunchy.
Hi, my name is Heather. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and 23-year-old son. I also have a 20-year-old son with autism who lives in a residential program on Long Island. I am currently doing Fundraising Outreach for my son's program. I've been a listener of the podcast from the beginning. Thanks for always making me laugh. LOVING the substack too! As far as the nachos, I love them any way!
Hello! I live in the DMV, which makes it extremely hard not to go to the capitol building to scream and yell everyday, all day. I’m an accountant by education, though I haven’t worked in that field for a long time. Currently I spend my time caring for home and family, and pursuing my passions which include couture sewing and all the liberal causes.
Hi everyone! I’m Stefanie. I live in Tampa, FL with my husband and very senior shih tzu. I’m a graphic designer for a local organization and absolutely love my job! I love the podcast and am happy to be here! In my free time I like combing the beach for shark teeth or shells, reading and walking around my city. I love nachos with lots of lime juice squeezed on top!
Hi, I'm Anna (45), I live in Tumba a suburb to Stockholm in Sweden. My two cats are my baby's, they drive me crazy but I love them 😊. Work as financial contract specialist. But I have a BA in illustration, so are creative in my free time, play amateur theatre as well, thus autumn we will preform Agatha Christis The Mousetrap. It's gona be fun but I have way to many lines to get in to my head. Was following Busy on Insta for years and had fell in love with the podcast an Cassie too. It feels like my abroad family.
So to the Nachos, I love cheese, I love a guacamole and som spice sauce.
I’m Melanie, I live in N Ga, outside Atlanta. I wouldn’t recommend it, as all the liberals are in hiding. I sell malpractice insurance, and have a son and 2 daughters. I am 58, married for 37 years in June. Yikes! I love your podcast, and will admit these days I feel a little unhinged with all that’s going on.
Hey! I'm Amy, I just turned 41 and I live in the Bay Area, north of San Francisco. I collect jobs. I am a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, Summer Camp Wellness Director, Realtor, PTA president, Public Health volunteer....I have that disease where I cannot say no. I am working on this. It is not going well. I am also wife to my partner since high school and mom to two boys, 13 and 11. When Caissie talks about Matt it reminds me a lot of my husband and 2 boys. Have been a podcast listener since the beginning and happy to be here, too.
Now on to the most important part of this post- the nachos. I am a vegetarian, nachos are a go to meal in our house. We get crazy and throw in thin sliced roasted sweet potatoes, corn, and whatever else is around. We put the baking sheet on a turntable in the middle of the kitchen table and have at it. As you can see I live a life of intrigue and glamour. At a restaurant give me all the guac and whole beans (not refried) and some hot sauce and I am content.
I'm Erin, and I'm behind because I spent a lot of the last week focused on a 10 year old's birthday and getting the house ready for a party that we finished yesterday!
I'm 41, a Rhode Islander, (it's small enough to just say that, but I live in the city with the airport) I have 2 kids, the aforementioned 10 year old and a 6 year old. I'm a chemistry teacher 10 months out of the year and a recovering chemistry teacher during the other 2.
I enjoy many things on nachos, but I will discreetly eat the more naked chips on the bottom of the dish if there's something I would like to avoid.
Hi!!! I'm Caroline, and I live in NJ, right outside of NYC.
I'm a pilates/stretch instructor, and also do freelance social media/copy work, but I'm trying to focus more on writing and editing!
I actually also have a newsletter, where I talk about weekly fashion news, do fashion reviews, and talk some fashion history, if you're interested, here she is!: https://gucciandgreenjuice.substack.com/
I also dabble in photography, and love being outside. I'm a summer baby, and if I never experienced the cold again, I would be just fine.
If I was ordering nachos, I would absolutely need jalapeños; big fan of spice. And while I love pico de gallo, I hate plain tomatoes, I don't get it either, it's fine.
Hiii I’m Lo (44). I grew up in a suburb of Boston, then lived in Western Mass for 10 years, then San Francisco for 11. Moved back east 5 years ago to Providence, RI to be closer to family. I miss SF and the Bay Area lots and lots but grateful to have landed in Rhode Island -- I love it more and more everyday.
I do freelance graphic design & illustration from home and event production gigs on the road, all over the country.
I missed this July 4 virtual nacho party, butttt I do LOVE nachos and ALL the toppings... most importantly, cheese on every chip (but that’s obvs). :)
Nice to be here, I have been inspired by the podcast and the community B & C have built from the get.

Same for me, most of my friends are 10 years younger. So nice to meet you all!

Forgot about the nachos!! I love all the cheeses except queso, the worst topping.

How do you think I feel?!? 🤪
